Hello everyone! I hope you're doing well and healthy.
Today I want to share about a book which I have read recently for my English class, which is the novel, The Sun is Also a Star, written by Nicola Yoon.
This book is about Natasha, a girl from Jamaica, who falls in love with Daniel, a Korean-American. Natasha and her family lives in Manhattan and they are undocumented immigrants. On her last day in Manhattan, she met Daniel, who was on the way to get a haircut before his interview for Yale. When Daniel first saw Natasha, he believes that he is very attracted to her. He decides to make Natasha fall in love scientifically with him through a study of 36 questions that can cause two people to fall in love. Eventually, Natasha falls in love with Daniel before she takes the flight back to her hometown. They try to keep in touch but soon grow apart as time shifts. Ten years later, Natasha noticed Daniel was sitting a few seats away from her in one of her flights.
I enjoy reading this novel because it makes me happy to see how Natasha and Daniel’s relationship changes throughout the story. They met as strangers but as they spent more time together, they found that they enjoyed each other’s company very much. This novel also taught me a lot of new scientific facts that I did not know before and it makes this story much more interesting. I also love how the story shows that suffering and pain can lead to beautiful things in the end. This can be seen when Daniel feels heartbroken when Natasha leaves her, but he gets to pursue poetry and enter the college he wants. This leads him to have a happier life.
In overall, I would rate this book as a seven out of ten. It is a good book to be read when you have free time and when you feel like reading a cute romance story. I think the author did well in writing this story and it would be nice to have a sequel for this novel.
Feel free to drop your review of the novel below if you have read it too.
That is all from me today and thank you!
