What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Storyboard on the poem: Leisure
Based on our understanding, the poem Leisure is about a person who has no leisure time for him/herself. Leisure is a free time when one is not working or occupied. In this poem, the poet questions whether it is worth living a live where we don’t even have time to stop and stare at the beauty of the world? We are surrounded of beautiful things that we should appreciate and cherish. We should take some time to stand and stare at the nature to discover the bliss of being alive. We should also appreciate our loved ones that bring happiness into our life.
