Hello everyone! How are you doing? I hope everyone is doing great with their family at home.
Today, I would like to share about KMB Action Week which was held on 22 March to 26 March 2021.
KMB Action Week consisted of activities organised by the teachers from each department of subjects. This includes the Science Department, Mathematics Department, Social Science Department and Language Department of KMB. The purpose of the event was to develop students’ creativity through collaboration.
On the first day of the action week, the students were briefed about their Internal Assessment for Business Management subject. The internal assessment will be a commentary written on an issue regarding an organisation. The briefing was done through Zoom Meetings and all the students were very attentive in listening to the teacher’s presentation.
Next, the Group 4 Project Presentation was conducted through Google Meet on the second day of the event. In this project, students were given a month prior of preparation to do research on a topic regarding Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Systems and Societies. The students were divided into groups according to their classes. Each group were given five minutes to present their findings to be judged by the panels selected from the science subjects' teachers. The winners were announced at the end of the event and all the students had also been very delighted to gain new knowledge.
The action week was then followed by a Mathematics Internal Assessment Day, which required the students to complete the first draft of their mathematics Internal Assessment. The teachers also allowed the students to have consultation on this day. In order to book a session, the students were asked to contact the teachers beforehand to confirm if the teachers are available.
Then, on the fourth day, the Malay Language unit hosted a Creative Video Competition which was streamed live on YouTube. The competition involved the students to create a video based on the literature works they were studying which is A Streetcar Named Desire and “Interlok”. It was very amazing to see the students unleashing their inner talents in acting, drama directing and editing videos.
To end the week, a Virtual Literature Carnival was held on the final day. The carnival was prepared by the English teachers with the help from the students to make sure it was carried out successfully. Various activities were designed to suit the students’ preferences such as brochure reading, table read and performances. The students participated in all the activities with great interest. This carnival ended the action week on a good note.
All in all, the action week was a very wonderful event that helped the students to widen their knowledge and improve their skills. In my opinion, this event should be held often as it has given advantages to the students and also the teachers. A big thank you for all the teachers who made this week the most enjoyable for the students.
That is all from me today. Thank you!
